About us
Konoba Didov san – Gornji grad is located in the oldest and most beautiful part of Zagreb, Gornji grad, between the church of St. Mark, the National Museum and the Museum of the City of Zagreb. The richness of Dalmatian Zagora cuisine stems from its geographical, national and cultural diversity. This cuisine has been influenced in rich and different ways – it appeared as a characteristic mixture of Bosnian-Herzegovinian and Mediterranean cuisine. New is born out of the old, out of what used to be and used to live. Tradition is that which creates quality, while consistency maintains it through time and creates new values. Just as wine is born from grapes and vine springs from the soil that is not the same everywhere you go, a mouthful is not just a moment in which it disappears, but a fruit – bred and cherished, specially selected and prepared. Among the authentic dishes of Dalmatian Zagora we include uštipak (a type of fried dough) served with kajmak (a type of soft cheese), cheese from tub and goatskin, home-made prosciutto, koštradina and raštika (a type of kale), frogs with prosciutto, snails, eel and frog brudet (similar to a stew), veal and lamb under sač (a special iron lid designed for baking), and many more. Apart from these, in konoba restaurants Didov san we recommend traditional dishes such as Didova tava (Grandpa’s pan) and Babina tava (Grandma’s pan), large smoked skewer and other traditional specialties.Services
